The Macon County School System has openings at two of our Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten sites. The openings are at Fairlane Elementary School and at Red Boiling Springs Elementary School. In order to qualify a child must have turned 4 years old prior to August 15, 2021. Applicants are selected by degree of need, with household income being the major condition. If you, or anyone you know, has an eligible child and are interested, please pick up an application at either Fairlane Elementary or Red Boiling Springs Elementary as soon as possible. Proof of household income (pay stub, most recent tax return, etc), copy of birth certificate, proof of physical, and a shot record are required to have a completed application. Any questions you have can be answered when you pick up the application. We will fill the open slots with eligible students as soon as possible. The VPK program runs from 7:30AM to 2:30PM. Meals and snacks are included but transportation is not provided and daily attendance is mandatory if enrolled. Children who were not 4 years old prior to August 15, 2021 would be eligible for the program next year and applications for 2022-23 will be taken in late April.
